The Project Surgery recommends that all women take advantage of the cervical smear test in line with national recommendations:
- First invitation at the age of 25 years
- Every three years until you reach the age of 49
- Every five years thereafter until the age of 65
- At other times as recommended by the Doctor
You will receive a reminder when your smear test is due once you have had your first smear.
- The above recommendations are for “routine” smears only. If you are experiencing any problems and feel you require a test earlier please speak to your GP.
