Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent many infectious diseases; the practice provides several different vaccination services.
Flu Vaccination
The practice policy is to offer the influenza vaccination to all patients over the age of 65 years and those patients suffering from certain conditions.
If you fall into this category we will contact you by letter or phone each year around the end of September to the beginning of October with an invitation to attend.
Childhood Vaccinations
We offer a full immunisation service for children.
If your child has missed a vaccination, please give us a ring to book an appointment with the practice nurse.
Travel Advice and Vaccinations
We offer many travel vaccinations, as do our local pharmacies. Our nursing staff are always happy to advice on the requirements for your trip. They will also advise on malaria prevention, and other health issues which may be relevant to your journey.
Some vaccinations will require boosters before you travel, so please always consult the nurse at the earliest opportunity after you have planned your journey. We recommend that you book your appointment at least four weeks before you travel.
We are no longer a Yellow Fever Center.
Please note that many travel vaccinations are not NHS services and therefore attract a fee.
Self Referral Services
You do not need to see your GP to access these services:
Physiotherapy (please ask reception for a self referral form)
Please contact reception for further information on these services.
Long-Term Conditions
If you suffer from diabetes, asthma, COPD, heart failure or heart disease we will offer you regular checks to help you stay in control of your long term condition.
Our healthcare assistant can see you on the same day or the next day.
NHS Health Checks
We offer all patients between the ages of 40 and 75 a healthy heart check.
If you have diabetes or high blood pressure this will be part of your routine care.
For everyone else we invite you to make an appointment for a full heart disease risk check.
